BJ Marine Tech Ltd provides the sensor package used in the Qinetiq Orpheus system. The unit is based on the Programmable Instrumentation Multiplexer, and provides heading ,pitch and roll data. A three axis accelerometer provides movement data. Wind speed and direction is provided by a Gill Windsonic sensor. The data is multiplexed into a single data stream, which is sent to the control PC.

- Three analogue channels are configured to read the X,Y and Z axis accelerometers.
- Two analogue channels are configured to read atmospheric pressure and temperature.
- One of the serial channels reads the heading, pitch and roll.
- Another serial channel reads wind speed and direction.

Spare analogue and digital channels are available for future expansion.
